place to eat..... and NOT to eat!

Well... we were taking a scenic drive to the South Shore and looking for somewhere new to eat.. S Googled and this place came up with 4 1/2 stars so we figured it was worth a try... The Google lied to us.

Jonny's Cookhouse and Ice Cream has awesome burgers and many other things, as well as ice creeam and milkshakes... seems to be a VERY popular place, as there was a constant stream of patrons (takeout only of course, at the moment) for both the food side and the ice cream side... the burgers are fresh and JUICY (double...

Wow, this place is a must-go (again and again!) The Crow's Nest in Parker's Cove is a cozy little neighbourhood type place - old and cozy, decorated with well-loved wooden type coast/fishing decorations - not like one of those chain restaurants that have generic country kitsch but homey and wonderful... when we go there the (small) parking lot...

looks like a dive from the outside and from the foyer... down some concrete steps (yep, it IS in a cellar) - ambience is, well... it IS a combination neighbourhood restaurant/music place/bowling alley - but they had the BEST chowder - freshly made and delicious - and is clearly a popular place. Bland is the only word we could think of -...

We've been here a couple of times - cozy friendly atmosphere, nice menu, great service, food is excellent... totally recommend Rosie's! Haven't been to the pub (Paddy's) side yet but will for sure try that too.

Looked so promising... haven't had sushi for soooo long... and we'd passed this place several times... an all-you-can eat menu, similar to the one in Richmond we used to go to...\

A renovated theatre, the pub has both a pub side and a separate dining room... seemed relatively popular locally but.... no. Just no. We thought the first time was an anomaly (both S and I felt vaguely ill after eating), that it had to do with what we ordered (poutine breakfast bowl)... but today we had another unfortunate experience......
