Our new home

When we finally resurfaced, we explored our new apartment - not that it took a long time, but hey... at least we were awake by then! it is 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom... my bedroom has the ensuite, with a walk-in shower with seating bench, just perfect!!! Sink has 2 deep drawers (YAY!!!) and under sink storage. Bedroom has a large deep closet with a short hanging rack at the side and 3 deep shelves, with room below for boxes etc... Shelagh's bedroom is slightly larger but does not have an ensuite (she gets the bathroom across the hall from the bedroom, which has a tub/shower and same type of sink with storage) and she does not have any built in shelves - has a closet with rod for hanging but no shelves....

the kitchen is lovely and open, with a large pantry closet and many many cupboards - lots of storage including 2 large corner cupboards with lazy susans. Fridge/freezer is side-by-side with a built in ice and cold water dispenser (yay!) and ceramic-top range, microwave, dishwasher. Lots of counter space (double YAY!) and has a return (where sink and dishwasher are) separating it from the living room. Living room is pretty spacious - large windows and glass front door (with panels of frosted glass for privacy) face a field and farm - very private! large parking area in front. Our suite is the bottom back unit of a 4-plex (two above and two down). Area is very quiet - just almost rural but not remote... Building is new (built May 2020) and our suite was repainted (bad tenants just prior to us) the week before we arrived...

Back in September (?) S contacted a short-term furniture place to see if we could rent some furniture for the living room (we were having new beds delivered but our furniture was being shipped and would take 2-3 weeks) so we would have something to sit on till ours arrived... they told her that if she called back beginning of November they would send us their current catalog and we could pick what we wanted. However, when she called at the beginning of the month they told her we could not rent till our quarantine was up. Boo Hiss!!!! When we were talking to Landlord, arranging for him to receive our beds and let the internet guys in to set us up- and when we mentioned that he offered to lend us some furniture till ours arrived! So when we arrived last night, he'd put in two leather couches,, a coffee and end table, and a clothes cabinet for S to use as a dresser! He has been awesome - we are so lucky!!! He had also offered to pick groceries up for us and put them in the fridge for us before we arrived, so we just ordered online (for us and all the necessary cat stuff) and he picked it all up for us - and since we couldn't go out for more Stuff, offered to get groceries for us as needed... then, to top it off, offered us the use of his car while we (S) were looking for one...
