It's about time!

They announced earlier this week that starting March 1st couples requiring care in Nova Scotia will be kept together! Currently across Canada couples are placed according to the care they require resulting in most cases that they are separated - which is so cruel. I see a fellow here who has Parkinson's - his wife has dementia and they are in two separate buildings within the same community. Due to COVID there was a 4 month period during which he was unable to see his wife - as you can imagine he fell into depression! And this happens all the time. Now with this new legislation - couples will stay together,in a location determined by the highest level of needs.
