almost Groundhog Day....

Yep. Almost Groundhog Day... which makes it entirely appropriate, when you think about it, that I lapsed on updating the blog and am playing catchup again...
so... in somewhat of an order...
Sep 30 - LUCY!!! S will be doing a post about her sweet new girl anon, so 'nuff said right now...
Thanksgiving - so wonderful to be able to have R&K here for Thanksgiving - has been so many years since we were able to really spend time together...
Dec 13 - COOKIE!!! today was the official adoption day for my new kitten, Cookie - more details and pictures to follow...
Dec 21 - K&R hosted a Christmas open house - they did an amazing job - K had the house decorated SO well!!! and the spread they put on was just beyond splendid... in spite of the fact that they said not to, all the neighbours who came brought something too - was great to meet the neighbours we've heard them talk about, a really nice community and group!
Christmas - like Thanksgiving - so absolutely splendid to have R&K (and Gizmo, (K&R's 13-yr old Pomeranian) of course!!!) here with us.. R&K came Christmas Eve and stayed over - had a lovely visit and was SO awesome having them here! All the animals (as of now, 6 cats, 2 dogs, and Gizzie) get along famously and all seem happy.
January - yep, pretty much a blur... highlights include "typhoid Cookie the sneezemonster" infecting Twinkie... then Molly spreading it upstairs to Teddy & Sherman... Twinkie was the worst - BAD conjunctivitis in his left eye, poor little fellow... but they all seem better now...
We had our first big snowfall of the season a few days ago - about 4 inches (kinda hard to measure because it is so windy here that the snow drifts)... have has snow before this, but not that much all at once... the plow came and did our driveway, but S got stuck before he came and had to take a snow day as she had to wait for the plow and for CAA to unstick her... so it was a nice day - the poochies were glad to have her home, they (especially Yam!) love the snow... it's all gone now, of course - doesn't take long for wind and rain and MORE WIND to clear it, then a couple of days of (cold but) sunny weather finished it off. Our property is very very very damp, though - we figure we won't be mowing this year, we'll be stocking it with trout! HA! Seriously, this is a MUCH nicer winter than last year's - that was brutal... but from all accounts was an anomaly that only happens every 8-9 years or so.
